The tank holds 250ml (1 cup) of water and will steam continuously for 15-20 min before having to refill. The best part is because it’s not pressurized, you can open and refill without having to stop and turn it off.

Most steamers are pressurized making them too hot and too wet to be used on wood floors. Because the Smart Living Steam Mop Plus isn’t pressurized, not only is it not hot enough to damage a finish on a wood floor, but the steam is also saturated so it dries within seconds!

The Smart Living Steam Mop Plus will clean and disinfect light, fresh stains on the caret as well as rejuvenate and refresh heavy traffic areas in the house. However, it will not replace a shampooer and deep clean the carpet in your house.

It is recommended that you empty the water tank when you are finished using it. This way, you’re not allowing minerals from the water to build up inside the mop.

You don’t want to add anything but water (or every now and then a bit of vinegar) into the mop as it will leave a residue causing streaks when you’re cleaning and causing buildup to happen over time in the mop.

The microfiber pads can be washed on a regular cycle in the washing machine. Wash with detergent only, no fabric softener, and no bleach.

There could be a few reasons for this:

– When you first get the microfiber pads they come with a film on them. Wash the pads first before using the mop for the first time.

– If you washed the microfiber pads with fabric softener or bleach, then you will see streaks the next time you use them.

– Some floors have a buildup of chemicals from previous cleaners they have used. It might take more than one cleaning session to get rid of all that film. During that time, you will see streaks as the mop is trying to lift this buildup of your floor.

– If you have added anything other than water into the tank, or are using very hard water, then you might see streaks as this can leave a residue on the floor. If that’s the case, then switch to using distilled water.

One microfiber pad will not stay dry to clean your entire house. After a while, the pad is going to start to get more saturated from all the steam. Simply switch to a new pad if you’re starting to see excess moisture.

There could be a few reasons for this:

– You don’t need to push down on the mop when using it. By dropping your arm down, this will stop you from forcing pressure on the mop making it easier to push. The steam is your muscle – you’re just sliding the mop head around the floor.

– When the microfiber pads are new they are covered with a film that can grip the floor. Make sure you wash the pads first before using the mop the first time.

– If you have a buildup on the floor (usually left from previous chemicals) the mop can be tougher to push until you remove the buildup.

If working on a delicate floor surface, it is recommended to turn the mop if and move it off the flooring. That way, you can ensure

your floors do not get damaged when the mop is left in one spot too long. You can place it on an angle on the carpet glider, to ensure the pad is not directly on your floor as well.
